I just picked up my copy of MR's new "special edition"... Modeling Railroads of the 1950's, and it is an excellent piece of work. Usually you will see several "reprinted" articles in MR specials, that were used in previous issues... but not on this one. I certainly can't remember ever seeing any of these articles about this great period in RR history.

If you model the transition era, especially the 50's...do yourself a favor, and check this one out.

I am hoping for 20s and 30s... Canada no less. The wish list always gets bigger... ;)

If you are into 1950s Canadian National, you really should check out Ian Wilson's "Steam..." series - now at 5 books. See www.canadianbranchline.com

I happened by my local hobby store the other day and bought the issue. You are correct. it is an excellent issue. It is the best one they have done in quite some time.
