This is really coming together nicely.
It is going to be a beautiful blaster once it is finished.
Blaster countdown: 98 % done!
I can't wait for this one. I'd love to build one for my art studio wall. I'm thinking of building a sci fi weapons display. Shadowbox frame with a sci fi panel background printed on the poster printer. Great work.
I've come up with a little stand with a wood texture. I'm posting pics as soon as the whole thing is ready. BTW, 99 % done!
T -3 ...

T -2 ...
Oh this is cruel!! I can't wait to see this!!
I know, and I enjoy doing things like this!
The suspense is going to kill...somebody...
Patience is a virtue. Good things come to those who wait.
Perhaps I'm wrong, but unless the mission clock has been stopped, isn't it around T+2 now?
Nope, this is the count:
Here it is folks, the Colonial Warrior Blaster!
And more. Including some good views at the Apollo antenna array.
Some close-ups. Heavy laminations were used to replicate the details. The edges were painted with water colours. I strongly recommend to use gloves for this in order to protect your hands and fingers from getting painted (this idea came too late for me; my hands constantly looked as if I was digging for coal). Please note that you can see the laser emitter when you look straight into the muzzle. And yes, it is all paper (except for the clear sheet for muzzle)!!!
And some pics to see how the muzzle would look like if it were lit.
Phew, I hope that this compensates for the long wait. Now I have to make the instructions and then we can all go bash some Cylons! Till then, enjoy the pics!
Man, that is so awesome. When you can get in so close and the model still looks good, well that says it all! Incredible! :thumb:
Looks really cool! Congratulations! Love the lighting renders
