So after playing through Wolfenstein the New Order twice, I decided to make a model based on the game. This is a model of a two-bladed contra-rotating helicopter prototype the player character, B.J. Blazkowicz is required to steal from the Nazis, and eventually becomes an important tool throughout the game.

About to start the testbuild, so in the meantime, have some screenshots.

Cool design! It reminds me a bit of the Aliens dropship. :)

Problem with blades that short is the tips reach supersonic too fast, and all lift is gone. That could not get off the ground, maybe just in ground effect, but I doubt it. That's why the Osprey's blades are so big. The new convention is to slow the rotors down and user pusher props/jets to speed up the helicopters up, like in the Sikorsky X2, and the Carter Copter. This would take care of the excessive speed of the rotors and still keep them useful as lifting rotary wings. :)

Maybe the blades are just the visible parts of the air conditioner..! :)

Could be, I like the way you think out of the box. Maybe they have nothing to do with flying at all!! :)
