This is a Live Steam ‘O’ Gauge Hudson made by Neff Model Locomotive Works, Chagrin Falls, Ohio.

The Great Grandfather of one of our club members made this. He is looking for any and all information on it.

    Anyone know anything about these?

    Can you help????

WHOA..not so fast, how about some details?

Do you fire it up and just let it run down like key wind?

How does it go? What gauge is it, O?
    Doest it still run?

    Gil,

Live steam locomotives are all speed controllable via a throttle. Some even have radio control, for both speed and direction. I have one with a steam-powered whistle which is radio controlled. On that particular locomotive, a Shay, the only thing that is radio controlled is the whistle. That way I can give the controller to some kid, who can blow the whistle until he, (or she), is blue in the face, or until he runs me out of steam.

Here is a picture of my Shay, with someone blowing its steam whistle, (the one on the left is real, two others are dummies)...

And a picture of my friend's grandson blowing his steam whistle on his live steam K-27...
