Lenz Wireless DCC

I was going back through some of my old MRs and in the April 04 issue there was an article on different wireless systems. I'm going to go with DCC at some point and wireless sounds interesting. In the article they reviewed the Lenz XPA which uses a cordless phone for the CAB. Does anyone have one of these or has ever used one? Price is a high priority, but preformance is too. Any opinions?

I haven't used it personally, but from all accounts it's a very basic form of wireless control. From what I've heard CVP is the best of the wireless, although my Digitrax radio takes some beating IMO.

I tried one when Lenz was first demonstrating them about 2 1/2 years ago. I seem to remember that there was a complication because of fewer buttons.
