Donald A. Smith, later Lord Strathcona and Mount Royal, with Van Horne, James Ross and Sanford Flemming looking on, drove in the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway. It was 9:22 a.m. November 7th. 1886 at Cragellachie in the Eagle Pass in the Monashee Mountain range.
