Last minute confab

The conductor confirms plans with the engine crew as the RS3 prepares to around the cabin to pick up cars for the transfer run over to West Mill Jct. Scene is HO with a scratchbuilt transfer cabin. I finally got hold of another set of PC decals and replaced the logo on the cabin with one that is the right size!!!!!

Hey Fred,
I'm transferrinng funds! The conductor squirrled away the cashbox in that cabin and hopes to make it to the Canadian border by sunset.

As I understand it, a transfer run moves cars from one yard to another that isn't too far away. Transfer cabooses are a simpler kind of office for shorter runs. I've read that they were popular in urban areas and also used for short local runs.
I modelled this one because I used to see them fairly often in Upstate NY when I was a kid.
