That is unfolding nicely! and not too many skinny bits! They will kill you with the tabs and all!! Nice Job!

I'm trying to use the least amount of tabs possible to keep the edges against each other. I think this will give a smoother finish to the model. I'm also going to try gentle filing of any corners to round them off before painting.

I might also give it a thin layer of clear coat to seal and smooth before spraying.

The skinny fiddly bits will haunt you. I would suggest doing some wet forming of the glue strips on the back side. At one point of curing, you will be able to smooth surfaces with your fingers. Please, no tabs!! ;)

LIKE @zathros said... you get that skinny bit with tabs and it will stick out like gluing another layer of card on the surface, and that will not sand down very well. Use copy paper on the back of your skinny bit sticking out on the sides/... LIKE a tab but behind the skinny-bit... then you can apply glue to that and edge match the pieces as smooth as possible, sometimes just the glue alone will be enough liquid to form the pieces together, if not a paper towel or the like that you passed some water close too! IE... almost DRY... when all together... burnish the edges to a smooth surface, then if needed some 400 or 600 wet and dry to take any sharp areas off!

Not much accomplished over the Xmas break. I'm slowly getting through the chromework and interior details.

Thanks @Gandolf50 the same to you, and everybody following this thread.

    Quick update on my son.
The transplant seems to have worked as he is a lot more like his old self and has more energy. We will find out more in the coming weeks but it's looking good so far.

I can't even begin to explain how many tiny, fiddly bits I'm having to deal with in the current set of templates. I'm only about halfway through them too. This is going to take a looooong time to build.

Most really good models do take a long time, and they are personal lifetime achievements. ;)

    Just had a minor setback.

About 3/4 done with the chromework and interior details. When I saved, Pepakura threw a 'no element' error.

I can find absolutely nothing about this online. My saved file is still there but the program won't load it.

Looks like I'll have to start again, which is slightly annoying.

    Thanks guys,

So far I'm at around 2500 parts and still have the engine bay and interior to do.
