Kato K-1 Question

LS&I

HI, can anyone help me with this basic question. I'm just getting into N scale or R.R. for that matter and I just bought the KATO K-1 and K-2 track sets. Does anyone know what the two blue items in the K-1 set are for? The one looks like a six inch ruler with a slight incline and the other is a square (well almost square) with a cross cut out, can someone please help?
Thanks Ed.................

I think that the piece with the incline is a rerailer. I'm not exactly sure how it works, but I think you put the rerailer on a straight section of track, put the locomotive or rolling stock on the incline, and then let it roll down onto the track.

Could the squarish piece be a crossing? Ya know...like where cars cross over the tracks (as opposed to the point where two tracks cross each other).

I'm deducing all of this from the description on the Kato web site: www.katousa.com.

I hope this helps!

The first thing is a rerailer and the second thing with the cross is for removing the rail joiners.
