Kansas & Oklahoma RR??

While traveling around lovely Ft Sill, OK, this morning, I noticed three GP-38s pulling in. All the were from the K&O (Kansas & Oklahoma) RR, which I had never heard of before. They were a solid black, with black and white slanted stripes on the nose & tail(same pattern as the BN stripes). They dropped off a couple of empty TOFCs then resumed pulling 4 BNSF 60' excess height boxcars south on the old Frisco track.

I assume the K&O is a shortline but I know nothing about it. Anyone else have any ideas? And why would they need 3 GP-38s when BNSF pulls much more on that same track with 2 -38's? The things you see when you're not at your desk.. :p

It's "another Watco enterprise". Here's a web site:

Watco

BTW, I vaguely remember qoing to Lawton as a teenager, something to do with picking up a quarterhorse mare that a friend of the family had sent to a stud farm down there. About the only thing I recall is a statue of Three Bars.
