Hi everyone, after a few years of making other peoples models I decided it was time to bite the bullet and make my own to give back to the community...So this is my first model, I've gone with this Luft'46 entry as it gives me a bit more freedom as it only ever existed on paper and lets face it...some of the Luftwaffe's projects looked so damn cool.

here's a couple of (poor quality as I had to use my phone) pics of the test build and Gino Marcomini's render of how the aircraft may have looked (800x600). The main wing section needs to come forward by a few mm.

Most of the 3D model is complete, I'm now working out the best placement for flaps etc. then I'll start on the texture.

    Veeeeerry Interesting

    Portablefrank,

Have never seen that plane before.
Would make a great display with the U.S P-38 and the Japanese Type 98?

Thats taken from the Luft'46 entry...I'm thinking about making the japanese J7W1 Shinden or Me-329 after...and getting a website up for 'em!

Yeah I think it would make a pretty interesting diorama

Thanks kampfflieger...I keep meaning to download your Blohm und Voss P.179 from hobby factory but I haven't got round to it.

Small update, wings and cockpit are done, the wings are currently 3 parts and run straight through the fuselage, I'm not sure if I want to try and make them 1 piece...anyone have any thoughts?

    Cheers, Tom

    Wing Pieces

    Portable Frank,

I don't have a problem with the 3 pieces. What, center section and 2 out wings? From a build standpoint it's probable easier to work with as 3.

i think you're right, for build purposes 3 sections would be easier...

    Really looking great!

I like to see the "plain" development builds.
You know when they look good, the colored model will look great.

The last progress pic was nice, moving fast!

    Thanks for the comments guys!

I'm just making a few parts a bit more "builder friendly" overall its pretty simple...which is never a bad thing!

Very clean and tidy workmanship. No wrinkles, bulges, or stray bits.

As for the actual plane, I wonder if that engine arrangement created handling problems due to torque along the longitudinal axis.

I the torque would be addressed by counter rotating props. That's what they did with the DO-335.
