Does anyone know where to find a card model of the Horten XIIIb supersonic fighter? Thanks.
Since I wrote my original request I have searched high and low across the internet, but still no luck! I even emailed NOBI to request he build one. I tried my hand at scratch building one, but don't know how to create the wing formers, etc., so it came out flat and not very well defined. Any suggestions?
Here's what I'm looking for.
Depending on size and detailing of model,i dont think its worth making the profiles exactly to scale. No one can tell and the profiles in these wings are special.
Flying wings can have several profiles along the span, see one of the types whitout any stabilizers.Built several as RC models,Hortens and Lippish.
Try this;Make the wing from 3 pieces;1 inner part that fits the contours
2 outer skins, cut longer at the trailing edge. Now curve the profile to to the skin-parts and glue the first to leading edge of inner-part.
Now,holding the profile, glue the trailing edge and trim.
Repeat on other side.
That sounds like a good idea. Thanks!
This may be interesting;
Alexander Lippish "Herman Koel".Original made as a free flight model.
Mayby my next project.
I think picture below will make someone smile
WOW! Thank you! :-D
I try to make model simple as I can so people will use less time to finish below is picture of mesh what I finish in metaseq
Nobi Are you comming back to metasequoia ?
The model looks very nice. I love this x-projects of luftwafe.
Thanks again NOBI. I'm very excited about your XIIIb project. You really made my day! I can't wait to buy that model. I just bought the P1078C and P.60A from your X-Birds series to thank you and to give me some practice!
I have finish trace all necessary line in Rhino. Ready to surface.
That's looking great. By the way, I will build one copy very strong and put a rocket motor in it. That's why I wanted it so badly. I intend to fly it.
I think you can modified to install airduct fan in bottom and put some servo to make it as RC and fly....
Maybe I'll do a 2X upscale for that.
Today I work a little bit on Horten Ho XIIIb. I finish making surface and test unroll...everything unroll smoothly without problem.
I´m also doing the Gotha P.60A at the moment - I really dig the 'flying wings' or 'Nurflügels' as they are called in Germany. By the way, did you know that Fiddlersgreen has a model of the WW II Horten Ho 229? It´s one of my many 'to do' projects . . .
Your new Horten Ho XIIIB project looks very promising - please 'book' me for one pdf download, too!
All the best,
Looks amazing NOBI. I work with computers (network servers) so I have computer skills, but I don't have the artistic skill to do something like that. I wish I could though.
Bengt, I'm working on the Fiddlers Green Gee Bee now. It's coming along very well, although I ruined the engine cover tonight when I painted the inside with flat black enamel. It soaked through the paper. I have another print to use for spare parts. I'll look for their Horten. Thanks.
I'm NA too also with DBA maybe I need some favor from you when I have some problem with network.
Fiddlersgreen Horten Ho229 Nurflügel and GeeBee
Yeah, the Fiddlersgreen GeeBee is a little gem - I´ve built it too. The same thing happened to me - I painted the backside of the engine cowling red with a marker and it bled through a little bit - you have to be careful and work really fast with markers.
Today I have little time to do Horten Ho XIIIb. I make internal former for this flying wing. More progress soon.
