Interesting. The pics are a little blurry, which version did you do and where did you get it?

    Did you combine the versions?

The ship with burnmarks, but the blue base?

I`m just curious, `cause that`s how it looks on the pictures.

Yes, I know - I built it several times by my own, and I even won a price with my last one.

I asked because it looks in the pictures like the blue water from version 1 is mixed with the burnt ship from version 2.

The ship from version 1 is showroom-clean normally.

I must confess that I`m "cheating" here - I work in the printing business, and those prints I used are offset-printed!

Excellent job Marco. Did you use some type of clear resin to make the water surface ripple?

    Nope.

This is "water effect film" from Faller, a model railroad supplier. It is clear wavy plastic that can easily be cutted with a hobbyknife.

I cutted a hole in the shape of the ICARUS so that it sits inside the small waves to make it look real.

By the way, I changed the original graphics a bit so that you can better see the submerged part of the ship, especially the red and blue stripe. Just a little detail, but it enhanced the look of a part of the ship being "in" the paperbase a lot.

I'll have to check that out the next time I'm at the Hobby Shop. I've got a couple of ship models that need to be finished and that really adds a nice effect.
