    Another injection of fresh kits

    Hi all,
Here is a new batch of models I got from Pawel, publisher of Orlik models.
He kindly ordered P 36, and I -180 from ModelArt/Answer as well as Arado from Modelik and included them in the package.

All in all I paid about 80 dollars for 10 models including shipping charges. I think this is considerable better then ordering from SPI Shop for example. A rough calculation showed that same order would cost $113 US dollars.

Now about the kits: All kits have awesome outstanding print quality. The only problem is pages of P 36 were cut to close to the print, so inspect your models carefully.
As far as Orlik kits, Kamov is the one must have! As well as Comet. The Comet features a little tractor -tower as well as other accessories. Brigit red camo really stands out.

One of my favorites is I 180, it a rare model and is done in metallic print. It looks very simple to build and has a good detailing.

With respect to Pe 2, I would say that Modelik Kit is little bit more exciting as far as the camo goes. However, the winner is definitely Pe- 3 from OREL in winter camo.

I also really liked P 36, nice detailing, bright colors and a rare model as well.

Well, I think it is enough for now. As I get more organized in my hew home, I will try to write more reviews.

  9. I have aquired 8 gis of models so far and now it is a challenge to decide what i want to build next. I watch the History channel or the Military channel and if they do story on a particular aircraft I start lookig thru my files. Then I get interested and that is what I build next. I am more inspired when I see something that just plain looks cool. that was when I went thru my paddle wheel craze. Now I have settled on the JU-52. You guessed it, I just watched a segment on the military channel and found it a most entersting aircraft. It is the German equivilant to our DC-3 but it needed 3 engines because the drag was so great. it had corugated skin which was stong but increased the surface area by double. Unfortunately the models don't bring out the corrugations enough.

My list is about 8 gigs too and getting bigger. It may become an archive for future generations, like that seed storage project.

If you want to request copies of files, do not do it here, do it in PM. I'm assuming you are only asking for copies of non-commercial kits also, most of which could be found with a quick scoot around the forums and/or google.

Just got me a crate full of cardmodels that had to go from someones possesion because of circumstance. (divorce) He heard me being into papermodelling and had decided that I would be a "good purpose"...

In short, tho I am sorry to hear of his situation, I have never in my life been more happy to have someone divorce!

To put it short, if i was to build a model every week, i would need *at least* 2 years to build them all!!! (Most from Modelik and various other polish (I think) shops)

How's that for a to do list??

O and by the way, I am still working on my first project, the Disney Castle and have planned to do every Star Trek ship out there... Erm... I might have to ask for a sabbatical year or so...
