HO to O scale ratio?

Hi all

I'm sure this question has been asked and answered before, but I can't find it so I'll ask again. What percent would you need to use to enlarge HO plans to O scale?

First things first,American HO scale is not half O scale.HO=1/87th O=1/48th. I think the percentage of increase is 54%.European O scale is 1/43 which is much closer to twice the size.

HO plan enlarged to 181.5% = O plan

The ratio is 87.1 / 48 = 1.815 (rounded)

A better plan would be to take a nice set of O gauge plans and shrink them in the copier to 55%.

Perfect! Thanks. I hear what you're saying about O scale, but these are plans for trolley wire supports created by my friend Chris who models in HO. I'm posting them on the website and I want to make them accessible to all scales, for all those traction nuts out there!
