Hi everybody, I'm wanting to scratchbuild a powered rail car, but am unable to find a axle system that I can add a motor to (Looking for the axle system on the walthers american powered crane) does anyone know of something that would work? I want to add the system to a boxcar or pulpwood style car that is hollow and would hide the motor. The motor is easy, just looking for wheelset that would accept the shaft from a motor. I thought about the rubber band system from an old atherm kit, but theres got to be something better....thanks...great sight by the way

What about the drive out of a cheap Bachmann engine, it's a pretty self contained unit that doesn't have any driveshaft.
    good luck
