History (not?) preserved

There is a CP wood-sided caboose on Highway 31 just south of Ottawa. It looks like it is need of repair - steps falling off, siding in not-so-great shape.

Does anyone know anything about this? I will try to get some pictures and the number soon.

CP Caboose

Andrew: Are you in Bytown Railway Society? They have a handy publication called the Trackside Guide, which gives the history of all these things.
They list a CP caboose in Hither Hills on County Road 31. CP 436777, built 1922. Is this the one you mean? Sorry, there's no info on future prospects.

The number seems right - I remember a lot of "7's" in the number, but have not been back that way for a few days.

Does the guide say if it is privately owned or anything else?

Andrew: I gave you all the info the guide had. They don't usually give ownership info, although the entry above says "privately owned".--David.
