    chopper

Hi Ray. I haven't chipped in because there is simply nothing I can add that hasn't been said many times already. My question is, where did you get your helicopter? I have a scene that I am planning that would really benifit from one. I model HO so realize that your source might not work for me but I haven't found anything close to what I need. A step in any direction would be progress.

    Beautiful work Ray.
How many people have stuck their fingers in the props of that airplane?

    Re: chopper

Depending on how you use it, an N scale chopper may work for HO. Especially if you force the perspective, as in put the chopper on an N scale building, in the back corner of the layout. Makes it look that much farther away.

That would be a good idea if I had the room to use it. Unfortunately even if I were to hang it from the ceiling as though it was hovering, the proximity of the viewer would ruin the illusion. I've never heard of anyone scratch-building a helicopter, it might be interesting experiment. Maybe just a heliport would be enough to sell the idea.

I believe it was purchased at K-Mart, in the toy department, long ago. I've looked for another lately, but no luck.

Not yet, but that could be a problem that needs to be addressed.

    Hi Ray
Holy cow what a layout!!! Are you going to go up to Port Clinton to Island Airways to get one of their Ford Tri-motors for your airport. Have you been to the hump yard in Monroeville? I'm looking forward to more of your photo posts.

Nice pictures again Ray! Did you use real gravel for the parking lot in the last picture? It looks really good!

The gravel is from Woodland Scenics , fine grey. Most of the scenery is from them.

    Here are more pictures.

If it can handle that twin engined jet then how long is the runway?
It's a great addition to your layout Ray

Not long enough I'm sure, but we need to use our imagination.
