I recently aquired a couple of F40PH locos (thanks again absnut)and would like to repaint them to Via colours. I found a nice set of decals that will let me model the Home hardware propmotional loco but I have no idea what base colour of yellow to use. I would like to be at least in the ball park.

I found one picture of it at

    http://home.golden.net/~railbus/via-p.html

but I don't know where to start to find a match to that colour. Any help would be apprieciated

    Thanks

    Garry

You might try using either CSX yellow (the one used in the Brite Future scheme),or possibly chrome yellow.

This picture (http://home.golden.net/~railbus/via/6429.jpg) might not give you the best idea of the colour - it looks a little to "rich" - maybe it's the lighting.

You could always contact VIA, maybe they can give you a Pantone equivalent colour?

    Garry,

George Drury did a "Modeling VIA" article in the May '82 issue of
Model Railroader. In it he used "D&H Yellow" from Floquil.

    Hope this helps:)
