There were three different color schemes used. The 1955 scheme (I know the plane wasn't around then) was Light gull gray with white lower surfaces. flight controls were white on both surfaces. In 1977, the scheme was changed to overall light gull gray. the TPS (tactical paint scheme) was introduced in the 1980's and was several tones of flat grey, darker on top and lighter on bottom. Insignias were in contrasting shades of the same colors. made the plane hnearly invisible in the haze. Squadron commanders were allowed to retain one aircraft in the 1955 scheme, with their birghtly colored insignia, as a moral factor....like in Rick's Photo.

I believe that aircraft belongs the USS Enterprise. At least that is what is said on the aircraft at the bottom of this page -- http://www.markstyling.com/e2c.htm

    I hope this helps...

Don't work too hard Nobi. We can wait on models, just make sure you take care of yourself. That is the important thing!

    :-D Ditto my last post!

StevO, not trying to put words into Nobi's mouth, but I think he designs based on what he likes about a plane. It don't matter to me as long as he keeps it up.:-D

    I too think it's a Raiden Alcides.

I like the blogsite Nobi, I'll bookmark it when I get home!

The E-2C is really looking fine!

Update picture of E-2C Hawkeye...see how all part arrange in page. Now I use 11 pages for all parts but I'm not finish doing connection strip yet so number of page will increase. Number of Mitsubishi J2M3 "Raiden" 's sell is very low :( hope sell will increase in monday
