Needle nose pliers and leatherworking tools really come into play in cardmodelling. The pliers control 'break' or fold of a tab very well. The result is a crisp, clean fold. They also hold tabs difficult to reach while the glue applied to them dries.
The spoon end, hook end and tapered pointed end of leatherworking tools are great for folding, flattening and shaping paper.

    Leatherworking Tools

The tapered end of this tool is good for shaping cones in the palm of your hand.
