hello all---the hostlers have been busy getting the motive power ready for another busy day
Well, that little Pacific is a nice model, but Mister Nutbar knows that the 1533 is by far my favourite of all of his locos. He's lucky to be able to wrest it from my clutches when he brings it to run on my layout. However, the 5702 also holds special significance for me, as this was the first loco that I painted for my good friend. And we might not have even become friends, as the paint job was a contract through a local hobby shop, except that the loco had been damage in transit and his name and 'phone number were on the receipt that had been left in the box. I called to advise him of the damage and to get an okay to do the necessary repairs, even though I was secretly unsure that I could. That was about 20 years ago: the hobby shop is long gone, but the friendship remains.
