It may seem scary, but a small bladed screwdriver inserted between the wheel and the truck center and gentile prying works well. Be gentile and go slow and it will work out fine. Once you have done it a time or two, a minute or two per loco is all it will take. Done it MANY MANY times. I use Atlas code 55 track and all of my engines needed re gauging!!
