JUST AS I GOT THE SHOT LIGHTNING STRUCK!!!
The pilot got us outta there!
I thought things looked overcast. 'Course down here with no
mountains in their paths, storms move fast.

We arn't able to return to the air until the loading was done and
the train on its way north to Texas.
We do know that it was loaded with Gator tail meat and Seashell
Critters. You know... Them things that look like frogs and such
made outta seashells. :D :p
Welll.... At least I know the Gators good.
Good Luck Engineer! The Paintshop will be waiting!

Actually it's parts of the Suncoast Model Railroad Club. Where I'm
a member. I haven't got an actual layout, yet. Been doing an
N-Trak and Diorama.
It is a nice layout, though.

It was fun setting the shots, making the story, and knowing that
little boxcar has been in many a place; and more to come.
:D :D

I got home to find a package waiting for me today..... Very nice!

Will get a chance to take some pics tomorrow (when I can borrow a cam) or Thursday, and "should" have it on it's way by Friday.

Sorry I haven't posted anything yet... Why is it that when you want to do something, everything comes up right at that moment to block it????

Anyway- Tonight I'm going to a Hockey game (GO AEROS!!!) and Thursday evening I will finally get a chance to take some pics.

I did sneak up a little early this morning and shot a couple just for grins:

First light- before the town wakes up- The Gauge car rolls into Seabrook Mountain. Had a heck of a storm here last night as you can see by the debris on the streets and the leaning telephone poles along the way...

It hitchhiked a ride in on a passing intermodal train

Right away, it was discovered that there would be issues with this car.... What in the world are those little bitty couplers???!? ;-)

Finally, things get sorted out and we are on our way. The crew can't wait to get rid of this one because somebody forgot to ice down the gator tails before loading them onto the car. Ever smell dead gator when it's been in a hot car for awhile? Whew!

I just noticed all my picture links are dead!!!! I fixed a couple, but will have to get the rest later when I get a chance.

Passing by town, notice not even the hard core rail fans will come outside for this one.... you can smell it for miles

A few deer pretend not to notice the train passing

Over the old line

We make it to the transfer building to get the gator offloaded. After the crew gets it hosed out, they'll throw on some red snapper and Corona (and we won't forget to ice it down).

Notice the storm even blew one of the smokestacks down at Kitt Transfer.

meant the gators themselves. Hmmmm....

Well.... Next time it comes 'round I'll be sure'n be one
o' the fellas load'n the goods.

Looks like a right nice town ya got a going.
Suppose I' won't tell the boys 'bout it....
Might not be as nice after'n them.
 ;) :D

Out AZ way
Nice pics, neat story. This car has made history in its travels. It is surprising where it has been and what it has carried.
