Nice pictures everyone. Should have thought about the loads, would of been cool for the HO scale.
Just a little clarifacation. The N scale car belongs to K.V. Div, alls I did was paint it for him.
Thanks for the kudos on the paint job.
Ed, thought the different cargos would be kind of a neat thing. I think I made enough pages of the manifest for the car travels, if not I have the original on file and can e-mail or snail mail additional copies.
I just received the car, well packed, arrived in fine condition, great paint job 88, will post photos ASAP.
After crossing into Florida the Gauge Boxcar #101976 was dropped by thr L&N and switched to a CSX consist heading southwest to the Gulf Coast town of Pandyville just North of Clearwater. In the consist there also was Gauge boxcar #016190 loaded with feed for Panda Farms. CSX GP-38 engines # 6638 and 3683 pulling the consist.
WOW! Fire Engines on a run just make it over the tracks as the train passes
The train now passing the Pandyville Station on the way to the freight yard to unload furniture for the North Carolina furniture store in Palm Harbor Florida.
Pandy--CEO of the Panda Gulf Coast RR checks out the new Gauge Boxcars.
Since it's Saturday night the train crew stops at McDonalds for something to eat.
While the crew is eating at McDonalds the Hobo's riding in the third boxcar search the empty Gauge boxcar and find a Jug of Graham County's Finest Moon-Shine, HAPPY DAYS
The train crew then moves down the track to park for the night and have a few beers with old Jim Rail a retired engineer who they visit with on every trip.
Old Jim and the train crew walk over to the park to listen to the accordian player squeeze out some old favorite songs.
The next morning the feed is unloaded at Panda Farms and Gauge boxcar # 101976 is loaded with dry ice, Pink Gulf Shrimp and Grouper Fillets.
Switched to a new consist the Gauge Traveling Boxcar #101976 heads to it's next destination, Sir_Prize in Port Charlotte, Florida pulled by a CSX GE Dash8-40CW.
Wow! Good pics, great story.
Very nice CSX! Very good story and photos.
Glad to see it made it down there Great story - Pics are fantastic!!!! Even Pandy!!
THANKS to all for those nice comments.
The car is packed and ready to go to it's next destination, just waiting for 88 to answer my PM so I know where to send it.
What a journey and trip through Florida. Nice pics csx. Like the layout also.
Add to journey
Right now my layout is in no condition for a visit, but if I could be added to the list towards the end of its journey, I would hope to have at least part of it finished by then. Right now it would be going through plaster mountains, unfinished portals, spans without bridges, towns without buildings and fields of blue foam. downright embarrasing for a car of that stature.
Keep me in mind for the future though.
