What brands of G-scale track hold up? I am looking for something inexpensive but I want it to hold up for a long time. Please let me know ASAP. I need to get this railway planned out sometime soon.

Aristo track is probably the cheapest. It's good track. None of it is cheap.

Yup Aristo! I've used it all along & have taken it up & put it back down - - very reliable!! Around $3.50 a foot here

Also, how often does it need replacing?

Mine is an indoor layout - so mine hasn't needed replacing in 12 years :)

Hmm. I don't want a track that needs to be replaced too often, it would get expensive. Yours is indoor and of course it will act differently that way.
