I was thinking :)rolleyes: ) that in a G Scale Railway, some of the G Scale inhabitants might want to have their own Garden Railway. In which case, a Z scale layout would work as a fairly large garden railway for one's G Scale people.
Has anyone ever done this, or thought about it?

WOW, that sounds like it would be pretty cool. Were you thinking of putting this Z scale garden railway in one of the inhabitants houses??

I know of at least one O scale layout that uses a Z train in an amusement park setting...wonder what Z would scale out to in G?

Depends on what "G Scale" you're using. Somewhere between 1:6.875 (1/32) and 1:10.73 (1:20.5), split the difference and a Z scale model running on the non-existent generic G Scale layout is around 1:8 scale--suitable for live steamers, kiddie rides or a really hardcore garden railroad enthusiast.
