I'm not sure exactly which kit manfacturer it was but the thing was pretty much scratch after the guy finished adding the required details he wanted.

Assembling the Suspension

Moving right along here, we begin the final assembly of the suspension. First, the drive sprockets and idler wheels. I was able to get a 1/16" brass rod across the chassis after all.

Once the road wheels are attached, the torsion bars are hardened off with CA glue, and the arms are epoxied into position.

The track is dry-fitted and checked for length. (you can just barely see the copper foil joining strip in the gap at the bottom)

Fantastic job Fishcarver!

I've been watching this whole thread with great interest right from the beginning and I must say, "Bloody good job O'l chap, bloody good!" :yep:

Your attention to detail is astounding and the scale figures bring this model to life!

I've enjoyed watching you work. Have you decided what your next adventure in card will be? Whatever it is, I know we will enjoy it as much as you and I am looking forward to more.

Russell: Many thanks for the kind words! I too really enjoyed this build. It sure taught me a lot, lemme tell ya!

I have a couple more Soviet vehicle projects in mind, including a PT-76 amphib tank and a BMP. But what I am really looking forward to tackling is a 1:35 rescale of the ModelCard SCUD B on the MAZ TEL. I will have to scratchbuild an interior for that (and should be able to use some photoetch parts). And I intend to use Eric Truax' SCUD Missile without recolouring. So stay tuned!

Regards,
Jim
