From what I could tell on the Microsoft site, this download is only for people who have previously purchased the program.
I think this is just an update for the program but I am not positive.
I didn't download it as I don't have any previous versions to upgrade.

Well, I was wrong. I am downloading it now.
Warning to those with dial up accounts; it is 57.2 Mb
No proof of previous ownership required.
You just need to either create or already have a microsoft.net passport account.
I guess I 'll start playing with this thing too, to see what it is all about.

    Jeff,
As you can tell, at least I am not having a problem with the site, but then again I accessed it at 4am!
I'm going to have to change my user name to "insomniac"!

Cool... its a free "Preview" edition :) ... I downloaded it this morning before going to work and installed it... only took about 5min. I'll have to play around with it when I get home... hehehe, it looks pretty neat.

u see... i cant even access the microsoft main page. im on firefox as my copy of internet explorer became virus infected and refuses to function for more than 3 minutes (at the end of this period i get a mirosoft error message saying that IE performed an illegal operation and needs to close). oh well, im fairly happy using Paint.net for my modeling ;-)

surprisingly... it is COMPLETELY separate from MSpaint from what ive read. the interface and tool use is the only similarity, i would highly reccomend it for beginners ;-)
