The thought occurred to me that I could contact any purchasers of the discs and let them know they had purchased counterfeit/stolen property. I checked each auction for any buyers and guess what? He hasn't sold a one!:-D

Of course there are still 5 days left or until ebay shuts him down.:(

I have just noticed that the seller has even put his name across the photo of each model. This looks like a copyright watermark. Ebay has got to take notice of this, as by doing this it make's a unwitting buyer think they have bought material copyrighted by the seller.

I just sent him the dictionary meaning for 'public domain'.

We need to keep finding big names in those DVDs to once and for all get it into eVilBay's head that paper models by even the little guy should not be pirated.

Like I said. Personally I would rather see a lawsuit come forth from this ... something has to make a precident to bloody Ebay's nose and make them learn a lesson.

Good luck with the fight guys, bed time here. Work tomorrow, I will check in tomorrow. Give him some hammer from me.

And I also need to say the V-22 osprey he says is public domain. I am sure that the file is free, but to use the file a password has to be bought. I am sure it was designed by Christian “Chippy” Chua. His web site http://www.geocities.com/chippychua/models.htm

You most certainly were defending this guy. You wrote:

It was only after being called on it did you suddenly claim "devil's advocate" and "e-bay's view". There was no indication of that in your original post.

I have seen this "justification" for piracy many, many times. There is a subtle difference between me letting you make a copy of my work for yourself, while not letting you make a copy of it for someone else. Too many people do not think there is any difference, and so accept these "disclaimers" as legitimate.

 They are at it here in the UK as well, seller c.morse02 is selling a Columbia shuttle that i have seen on the net, and grumpy_monkey_1979 has auctions for Star Trek models, Star Wars models and now sci fi models showing pictures of the De Lorean from Back to the future and a Star Fury.
I have e-mailed both telling them that they are selling illegally.

I honestly don't think he was defending the guy. I believe he was pointing out the seller's so-called justification and asking for more information/clarification, which he got.

BTW, SteveM, a friend from the car club forum I've been a member of for years referred me to your site to get the Tuetel models. Had to show him/them my build pics of those models, and explain all the models of yours on my list.

I've Sold More Than He Has!

(At least in the past month or so).

Steve - thanks for pointing out that he hasn't sold a one.

    That's surprising, actually.

Maybe he'll just pack it in...
