What do you usually run your truck on, if an off road track, how big is it? Smooth, rough, long straights?

Me and me step-dad are going to build a track that has a long strait away leading up to a big jump, then it rounds a corner and it has something like some S-curves. I also drive it around in my driveway and in the yard.

Then I would go for 14 double, good speed, torque, and run time.

What company makes one of those motors that would be a good purchase?

Trinity Caliber 14 D. is about $20.00 but not rebuildable other than brushes. Peak Stratus about $30.00 and Reedy Ti or Orion 14D about $50.00. If you can afford it, get a rebuildable, most hobbie shops can true the comm when needed or zap the magnets.

What do you mean by rebuildable? And which company makes them?

Rebuildable is taking the endbell off and truing the comm, zapping the magnets, shimming the arm, replacing the bearings. The companys are Trinity, Orion, Reedy, Peak.

All are great motors, I prefer Trinity, but have a few of the others.

Hey Robin your situation sounds just like mine. I also am building a track that has a long straight away with a big jump in the middle, a set of s-turns at my house for my step-son and I, what a small world it is. I see that you also live in Arlington, maybe we can get together someday and do some racing. Good luck with your car and keep the rubber side down..

hey timrock, earlier in this forum you said something about wiring two batteries parallel to get longer run times. How do I do that? Also, I want to start racing at my local hobby shop. They have a track that has a lot of turns and many jumps, including a jump that is at least
1.5' tall. What would be the ideal set-up for that, but still be able to run it around my home track?

I want to put a 10T motor in. I already have an 8T+ ESC. can I use the stock spur gear and pinion.
