    Dora
Dora was the second gun to be produced. It was deployed briefly against Stalingrad, where the gun arrived at its emplacement 15 km (9 miles) to the west of the city sometime in mid-August 1942. It was ready to fire on September 13th. However, it was quickly withdrawn when Soviet encirclement threatened; when the Germans began their long retreat they took Dora with them. Dora was broken up before the end of the war, being discovered in the west by American troops some time after the discovery of Schwerer Gustav.

This is a big project and you have made tremendous progress already!
What are your plans with it?
    Selling it? Sharing it?
I will see if I can find any prints but certainly, no promises.

Here is a cool looking video showing the big gun in action. B/W, no sound.

    http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=1209533366135570549

    Still a great video!
The gun at the end appears to be a rail gun of massive diameter, not the "Dora", but maybe the subject of future exploration, eh?

I've uploaded a 4.8 Mb, 1 min 30 sec file to photobucket I found somewhere on the net of Dora moving on rails, and being loaded, on if anyone is interested. A large mortar is also included.

Click on the photo to watch it.

Ah Russell, you are way too quick for me. I guess that is where I found the clip originally.
