HERE HERE , I think we all benefit from what they do , in some fashion.
Yes, I am a member and I like the publication that they produce.
Is there a benefit for me to join in Australia? I doubt it. That said, I am a member of a model railroad club, which certainly has it's benefits.
Not a member, never will be!
I model in Gauge 1 (1/32) the nmra, never had standards for this gauge, never wanted to know about it!
However the Pommie group the Gauge 1 Model Railway assoc started in 1937 did have standards etc & a worldwide membership using those standards.
When the nmra decided to do standards for G1 they ignored G1mra, & the standards started by Marklin & the pommes back in about 1881 at the Nurnemburg toy fair & made their standards based on god knows what.
And then expected the rest of the world to follow their rules............
