I am installing a Diditrax DH163ip decoder in a Kato SD40. The instructions say that the roof weight has to be modified. Do you have to use this weight, (does it carry current) or can you not use it ? Also one of the instructions says:

motor filter capacitors in the
locomotive wiring. These
may cause problems with
Supersonic decoders and analog
operation on DCC. This
capacitor should be removed
for safe operation. Does this loco have a motor filter capacitor?
