Here are a few more passenger power pic's:
To bring a little colour to this thread. Here is a Baureihe 229 of the former East-German state railway(DR). It's a post re-unification rebuilt from a Romanian built 219 diesel-electric with West-German engines and systems. The original 219 were so undependable, the knicknames for these locos were "Ceaucescu's Revenge" or "Karpartenschreck"(Carpathian Scare). The DR merged with the West-German DB to DBAG in 1994.
The rest are the well know F40PH old Spectrum, Walthers , PFM.sign1

Lots of nice stuff here. Most of my passenger diesels are just out of the box so nothing most won't have seen. Here is an old brass E7, the first E7 the Central bought. It's a pretty poor model by todays standards, but I like the paint scheme, made to match the
20th Century "reversed" two tone grey.

I love those P32AC-DMs. Too bad nobody makes one, and it's darn hard to convert the Athearn AMD103 shell to look like one! Oh well.

Actually, someone does (did) make them. Overland Models did the Metro-North and CDOT and Amtrak P32's in brass in HO (and supposedly in N scale too). I have one of each in HO, and they are magnificent models. Their recent (2005) CDOT FL9M was also a work of art (the only thing I didn't like was how they modeled the ditch lights. In order for them to function, they drilled holes through the nose of the loco so the bulbs could be pushed through to line up with the ditch light castings. I would have rather had non-functioning ditch lights and no holes in the nose!).

    Miles,

I barely remember myself. Once I saw this thread I went down to the train room just to take this picture. It's the first time since the weather turned nice that I 've been in there. As soon as the weather turns cooler again, I will retreat to the basement for the duration of the winter and will post more pictures.

By the way, Miles, bday1 !

Unfortunately the color scheme is sharper than the photograph... :D:rolleyes::oops:

    Passenger Train shots

I like passengers trains - always have...here's a few of mine. My roster includes a Southern E8/9 A+A, UP SD70M that pulls an excursion train around the country, Amtrak F40's, and a Santa Fe FT A+B set that has been recently restored for excursion runs around the town. Railroad management plans on adding an Amtrak P42 Phase V and matching cars to create the "Carolinian" that operates from NC to NYC. And as soon as someone makes one in Nscale...a Southern GP30 pulling various passenger cars on short runs around the NC Transportation Museum - something they do almost everyday.
