After reading posts about Howl's moving castle I decided to design a model from one of Hayao Miyazaki movies : Porco Rosso's savoia S.21 seaplane :

I downloaded al the pictures I could find on google and started the design...

This is the first step so far :

    Looks like a sub...:-D

These are just tests to see how to get the nose and bottom done...I have more ideas of how to do it...

This was just the easy part...see if I can find the time to do more work tomorrow...

    Go ahead !!!

More designers, more models, all good for the hobby.

The model is very interesting for me because I'm an anime fan.

    Yeah ...just found out...

At first I was thinking about quiting this project, but my design is not so much the same so I won't be stealing anything from that model...

I am going to build that other model to see the results.

think in terms of a half sphere (look at models that have full or half sphere parts).

Please don't quit. I think your models looks goods and it's different. I think is good to have options.

I built the other Porco Savoia, a very nice model. I would love to see another interpretation of this plane, and bigger would be better!! If you could model Porco with it that would really be cool!

    Hey Triop,

I didn't post the link to discourage you  I wanted you to check out the model to see if it gave you any ideas about the nose. Please continue with your design, we could all use two Savoias, after all, how many Me-109s are there?

About building it bigger...not my style 8) you can always magnify the model and print :-D

Triop............ I hear ya on the not bigger............ I feel the same way on the small stuff............

Just remember that when you layout the parts............. make it easy for us with "gigantous fingerous disease" can rescale with having to re-layout parts:grin:

    Thanks

Note that the site these pics come from say Ojimak!

I think he wont release it because it wont fly but who cares if it's that good.

Cheers to Triop for taking on this interesting model. =)

When you finish it you should try others from the movie.
