Can anyone tell me how to design a sphere, spheroid or ellipsoid from card, or where to look? This would help me in further designing card model planes, especially the nose regions of the fuselage. An egg would be a good example.

Not if this helps but Jim G. taught me how to do drop tanks......... they are almost egglike.

He uses AutoCAD, but I did this in BLENDER.

First he draws the outline............then he spins it 360 degrees on it's axis.

    Hi Jim!
Good to hear from you again.
My problem is the nose of my CS2F Tracker - it looks more like the 'ugly' snout of a PBY Catalina, than a nice rounded bulbous CS2F.
Any comments using a SYSTEM rather than trial and error? Expensive CAD programms are out.
    Cheers
    Bob

    I volunteer BLENDER blender.org - Home

    It's free.............

You can export to Pepakura and unfold...........

And it's really not hard to learn............um I'm still learning. There are some experts with it here and they will share their knowledge.

    Bob!
You have awful timing... I was just out at an air museum today and they have an S-2 Tracker. If I had known to shoot some pictures, I would have.

If you have a side view and top view, I can probably do it for you on AutoCad and then flatten it out and give it to you as a jpg, or bmp etc.

    Bob,
    I found this 3-view: S-2 Tracker

    I'll give it a try.
