hard wired a MRC ad310 in a Walthers trainline gp9, all works ok on the program track BUT the leds never completley go out, they go dim. I have them wired to be directional with the direction of the engine, when reverseing for example the rear led goes full bright and then the front led goes dim, likewise the other way. Anyonw have a clue what is wrong?

How did you wire the LEDs? Are they wired to the separate headlight wires from the chip or are they wired into the motor circuit (the way we do with DC)?
Have you looked through the manual for the chip? There may be some function in there that controls how the lights behave.
