Greetings from Adelaide.

I have Triang locomotives using X04 Motors.

Is it possible to set up DCC.

Cheers

I'm not familiar with that equipment, so let me give some generic information.

It is my understanding that DCC requires modern can motors, and that the old open frame motors don't work well. I don't know whether it is an efficiency thing, or weather it has to do with radio frequency interfearance, or some other issue (I'm mainly a DC guy, so there is an ignorance factor in my DCC answers.)

A lot of older locomotives were designed with one motor brush being grounded to the frame of the locomotive. with DCC both brushes have to be insulated from the frame, so that the wires from them can co to the decoder, and the decoder can feed power to the motor, and change polarity of that power.

that is about the extent of my knowledge concerning DCC
