Hey DCC'ers

Im toying with the idea of going DCC....Its becoming more appealing by the day! But before I take this leap I have one question.

I would like to keep all my switching remote...and on my current 4X8 I have a number of atlas remote switches....are these possible to operate via DCC? How is the wiring different? I need a decoder installed for each switch right?

I have a very ruff understanding of DCC, ive been doing some research but just havent been able to find a clear answer on this.

Thanks

Yes, you can control just about anything w/ dcc and the proper decoder. There is a thread here: http://www.the-gauge.com/showthread.php?t=25967
and here: http://www.the-gauge.com/showthread.php?t=9715&highlight=stationary+decoder

A good bit of reading i know but it's worth it. Here are a couple links to generic information on stationary decoders.

Some specifications: http://www.amhobby.com/products/tech/generic/guide_stat_decoders.html
and
http://www.dccwiki.com/Decoder#Stationary_Decoders

I own 2 lenz 4 port stationary decoders (atlas distributes the same things w/ a differnt skin on it) and they are great!!!
