Very nice, Nobi.
Here's another profile that I found in a book. I know it's a little late , but at least I finally found it.
Building progress picture of Dauglas SBD Duantless. Fuselage, Tail and canopy is finish. everything go very well...will continue on wing tonight. Color of model look strange because of flash from camera
For colours, and very much like Ryan Short's find, I offer this one:
From the excellent site Airpages.ru site.
It seems it shouldn't be so dark after all?
PS. By the way Ryan, the article you cited was excellent. If you are interested in really high-resolution and better colour quality copies of the photos they used, and similar (many of the from B-25s), you should explore the Farm Security Administration/Office of War Information Color Photographs. It is a gold mine, and you should know that you can limit your search to something like "Aircraft industry", plus you can choose to call up extremely high-resolution photos. They are absolutely outstanding, and I have a volume of them collected on my hard drive, mostly B24 manufacture.
This site may be of some help - http://www.chandelle-jah.com/camocolors.html
So far so good
Here's how far I've gotten so far on the build. Yay for a new camera!
Is this Nobi's design? Is that 'stick' inside the fuselage a pushrod? RC control? Flying? Tell us more.
Cheers -- Larry
Yes that's NOBI's SBD - like this thread is all about. The "stick" in the fuselage is actually the elevator stiffener, which I was storing inside the fuselage so I wouldn't lose it...
Here's a picture I took on Friday at the CAF Airsho 2006.
