Double Headed Monkey I can't afford it. Not at that price, that double headed blim-blammin monkey! Paulsens and Knudsens are Danish. I WANT ONE! I'll have to wait or just make my own outa some F7s. I've seen poor pics of the proto type. Now I have some better pics, even if it's a model. The proto had bars on the windows, guess it a rough place. Must be that warm beer they drink. Or the wooden shoes. Make a guy mean I guess, drinkin' warm beer, staggerin' round on cobble stone roads in wooden shoes, yellin' at the moon. I'll go there one day and see for myself. Got relatives there...

Now that we're back on topic, not to mention Vic or MSH's names, those are some really cool loco's. Are they available there, or is my best bet to just keep an eye on e-bay? I noticed the double headed monkey is in the walthers 2002 cat. Are those models double headed?

I think that's the same photo I have, it's just listed with the DSB for some reason. So I guess staggering around the cobblestone streets of Denmark after a lot of warm Carlsberg may have a humbling effect. You guys need to take a holiday, test the theory and give us a full report.

MSH - no he can't get you a Danish model when he's there and lay off the viagra. Let a sleeping dog lie.

Jon, I scanned the Fleischmann models pic from my 1997/1998 catalogue (it's the newest I have! ), but I think that they are still available. I can check it if you are interested (BTW: the RR model prices here in Europe are waaay expensive that the ones you are used in the States! :( ) ---> see P.S.
And yes, they are double sided, it's only that I have done a clumsy work when scanning.

About the "guetto bars" on the norwegian proto, LOL, I think -only guessing- that it's due to the fact that these locos run(ned?) in very mountainous areas, with high risk of rock landslides. If you have seen danish ones with it too, it scapes me the causes, because Denmark is a lot flatter than my backyard  Maybe they were suffering Viking strikes!! ("Hey, Olaf, I bet you a beer keg that you cannot hit that ugly thing with your hammer from here!!") :D :D

P.S.
YIKES!!! Yes, they are available, but you don't want to see the price ($1=1€):

However, I think that it's possible to find it cheaper...

Hey Topo, thanks, but at the momnet I'm out of Americano Pesos. Maybe I will ask you to look later.

That picture I thought was Danish is not, it was just beside the Danish photo in a book. I think it is the same picture you have. So I don't think the Danish one has bars on the windows. Maybe I have to go to Denmark myself and try onthe wooden shoes and warm Beer! Shall we meet there?

Sheesh, all this chit chat just to get this little bit of information? I'll summarize it for those who don't want to read the whole thread:

"Jon can't afford to play with a two headed Danish model because he doesn't have enough money..."

Then again, with all the genetic experimentation going on, that seems to conjures up all sorts of sordid visuals so maybe it isn't any better. :D :p
Sorry... Carry on...

Not to bring up old urges Jon (...:D ) but a local Hobby Shop here in Phoenix has the Fleischmann DSB unit on consignement for $49.00. I ran it and looked it over and it is in perfect condition (even the wheels are squeeky clean...). It looks brand new. If your still interested in a "two headed model," let me know and I'll check it out further for you...

Looks like I made a pot off coffee for nut'in.Now I'm going to be up all nite.

There was an american proto type of this in an MR mag, What one I can't remember.Or even the road name. But they got rid of them cause of the wiring kept catching on fire.I'll have to look that up and see whats what. I know the RI didn't have any.:D :D
