In my website's guestbook, James G (Paragon) posted a link to the new PaperWorlds site, to a thread showing instructions on how to make the Cylon Basestar. The PDF is in that site's Gallery, under rjstacey64's name. Find the thread here:

Actually, I thought I'd seen one around somewhere. I'll try to locate it.

    Edit: No luck so far.

I saw a picture of one on his site that looked done as far as the actual model. All that(apparently) needs to be done to it is to unfold it. I hope it's in scale with Gearz's Galactica.

Yes! I have a good model of Cylon Basestar that I am simplifying but as I am with other projects in front it will still delay a little to be made available, I believe that next semester...

I believe you have to have 3D Studio Max to open those files, however, you can open them with 3D viewers. There are many available for free on the net. I've used Myraid Viewer, Alteros 3D and solid View to view files of that nature.

I just opened one of the Raiders with Alteros 3D, it was a lightwave object file, or .lwo

    Try finding a 3D viewer.

I tried opening these with Alteros 3D and a couple of other programs, but couldn't get them to open correctly. One of them opened, but it was disfigured. It may be because I'm just using a viewer and not actually using 3D Max, or one, or more may be a corrupt file.

It's most likely something I'm over looking. Keep trying.

Looks like you have to fill out an information form with some rather nosy questions... probably info gathering for a sales pitch, but once you submit your answers (whatever those may be ) it takes you to the download page.

I'll give it a shot and see if you can convert.

Definately not for dial-up. The file is 568 megs!

What about gmax, the free alternative to 3DS, would that open max files?

I'm not a 3D guru, and have no intention of trying to open the files... just trying to help. :D

If I could come to grips with converting 3D models to card models, my build queue would end up stacked higher than a medium to large skyscraper. :p
