Nice...I would also add that mirror card's reflective surface is slightly more water resistant than most, so if you like ResinW or other 'wet' adhesives, and are slightly clumsy like myself, you will have a little time to wipe of any glue seepage with a damp cloth. A quick buff with a tissue/kitchen towel and all is well :D

Started work on the right Guantlet and I started with the toughest part first the nozzel.
I first tried without scorring the part but the folds where too tight and too small for my fingers alone, then I tried this tool I found at Hobby Lobby but the bends where rounded, so this did not work.

Then I went back and scorred the part front and back and started bending and gluing

Again - nicely done!! There's only one way I've found to do it and you've done it, as painful as it is.

I've been keeping my eyes open for a decent substitute, but nothing is quite right, and as you and I have have shown it can be done with time and patience, and I'm sure if accuracy wasn't something the lid of a clove oil bottle or some-such might suffice, though would mean painting was required...

Anyway Red - for you the nightmare is over and the rest should be plain sailing :)

Hi Red, and any other interested parties - quick question.

I'm pretty much 99-100% happy with the parts I've done, except for the shoulder....

I had a go at building it, and found that mine wasn't too fond of keeping it's shape so I decided to try a different design based on a spiral. A slight tweak will be required here and there but it certainly looks rounder, though I'm not entirely sure if the spiral design looks better or worse - it certainly looks more 'interesting' but is that good or bad?

Anyway let me know what you think - all opinions welcome :)

I like the "straight" one better (the one at the right). You can still insert another layer of card to stabilize it --- wait a minute: What about making the right one the outer shell and glue a slightly smaller left one inside it for stabilization?

What about an orange-slice shape? (Well, I'm not too fond of that but it may be worth a try in this particular spot.)

BTW, has anyone started on a new accurate Cylon rifle yet? (The one available as *.pdo is too large and the detailing is wrong.)

And there may be others.

As for the Cylon Rifle - Sounds like your the man for the job - Not only does it sound like you know the best of what's available but also how to improve it ;)

I thought so, too! I'll swing into action shortly, in other words: the Blaster Master is at your disposal. ;)

I shaded in the raised parts to help keep me staight on which side of the card I was to score. and after I started bending those tight little bends, the mirror started to flake off the card so I Stopped Bending the Mirror card and started Gluing it to thin cardboard and cutting it into strips to cut it down to size. it could have been the mirror card I was using was too thick,
