Confused by Hornby

:cry: One of my son xmass present is a hornby class 50 deisel D C C ready when i opened it up to put a plug in chip in i found the plug that comes out has 12 prongs on it knowing the standard plugs only have 8 prongs do i have to buy a differant chip any help please confused or what.mike
 
Why me, what kind of decoder do you have? I definitely don't have any clue on working with Hornby, but I did a search on Yahoo and found this website.

It is very brief and doesn't explain a whole lot, but it looks like in one of the pictures they are only using 8 of the 12 pins, maybe you don't have to buy a new decoder, but maybe you just need some type of adapter or something. Just a thought. Good Luck!

Thanks guys all becomes clear now only 8 of the 12 pins used loco running fine thankyou for your help.mike

Freelancer found it, I just stuck the pic in. What I want to know is
what's the other four pins for?? And what about the screw symbol????

Makes a heck of a neat looking installation, anyhow!!!
