Chief, That is a very nice engine. Sometimes I am glad I don't have 072 curves, I might be tempted.

Jeffrey, Nice night shot.

For the first time in about 8 months, the clock in my wood shop is now set at the correct time!  :thumb:

Winterized all the outdoor hoses and reels. :winter1: Still have some pond plants to set down to bottom of pond and fall cleanup to take care of. I like to hold off on this till it is going to stay cold. I think we have some mild weather coming yet this year. Could be wrong.

Evening all. Why the smoke shield on the Big Boy? Please splain. Ran Big Boy today. Did some track tweeking to make sure it had clearance between the inner mainline I run it on and the outer mainline. Did some wiring to accessories I had been putting off. Popcorn time.

Good morning folks

It was a little chilly as I headed out the door this morning. The temperature read 39 F on the van thermometer. Our high will be 60 F. I have a short day in the office today because tonight I get to be main course at a public thrashing aka public information session on one of the projects that has recently started. We designed it and coordinated it with the local business people so all the road closures would be over the winter. The business community wanted it that way since they said that the summer was their high tourist season. Now they are saying we can’t close the road because winter is also their high tourist season. It is kind of hard to construct retaining walls holding up the road without closing it. By the tone of a newspaper article I read on Friday I fully expect the locals to be waiting for us with pitchforks and torches. Yeap, this is going to a fun one.

We did the usually shopping excursions. We even got a few Christmas gifts that were on sale. The kids took us through the toy departments of several stores to show us what is hot for them.

I had a great modeling weekend. I finished weathering an Accurail Lehigh Valley 50’ Exterior Post Boxcar, an Accurail Penn Central 40’ Boxcar, a Bev-Bel/Athearn Seaboard Family Lines 50’ Double Door Boxcar, an Athearn RTR N&W 50’ Boxcar, two Atlas Trainman Ashley Drew & Northern 50’-6” ACF Boxcars, an Atlas Chessie System 60’ Auto Parts Boxcar, and an Atlas Western Maryland 60’ Double Door Auto Parts Boxcar. I even weathered two Reading Bethlehem Car Works Coaches, and a Reading Combine. I still have to seal them. I also began installing grab irons on a Walthers Reading Coil Car. Everything was going good until I discovered a damaged handrail on my LNE Atlas U23B. I had to fix that after a photo session.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Yes, John, that is Blueberry Bridge.

I think I'd like to put a little blinking light at the top. Don't know what kind. Any ideas ?

Chuck

Adhere the light onto the desired location, and run the wire unconspicuously on one of the upper edges of the bridge. Then have the wire head to the closest edge and get the wire to dissapear without noticeability into the woodwork.

Morning all. Wife stayed home today [can't sleep as she is making noise]. Selling her car at lunch to some nice guy. Then she will escort her boss [Gail, our friend who moved back to NC from DC] to look at Toyatos. Going to go vote this AM [to make Mayorship official]. Got to harvest all my tomatoes [ripe and green] and peppers. Finally going to frost and freeze tonight. Probably slip in some trains this afternoon. Got first class from Reagan to Hartford on Thursday's flights [RDU to Reagan is in a small jet]. Have a great day.
