Holding off on ohter rolling stocka s got so much now, no where to put it until layout built and get some storage tracks. Will spend money on switches now. Got lots fo track already. All have a good one and God bless.

We also had a train car colision this weekend how ever it was with parked cars, people didnt want to pay for parking to watch the Christams parade and pared on the right of way a bit to close to the tracks.

3 cars were side swiped by the engines tank which ruptured dumping 500 hundred gallons of fuel all over town

Hard to believe that just last Thurday we had record low temps and today record high temps.

Gil - I will never understand why people can't wait the two minutes it takes a train at 60mph to pass. Was that 2 minutes worth his life?

It sure was nice having 4 days off.

Here are some new poles we put on the pike.

Hi Guys,
It got into the teens here last night with high winds. It will warm up to the high 50s though today.
My wife got me up at 4:30 and said the furnace was out. The wind blew out the pilot.

Spanky, I agree but these local morons parked the car close to the ties and left. Imagine their surprise upon returning and seeing half their car where they left it and the other half 200 yards down the track.

I was telling Bubba Gene, the nephew, I would bring up a little train and put it under the tree for he and his two girls, 8 and 2. Several years ago I bought the oldest girl a Lionel Jungle set.

I suggested I would build a small layout and when the three of them were putting up their tree, Bubbette and I would come up, bake some cookies with the girls and make coco. The littlest one then shouted "I will help you build it" and clapped her hands.
Gene and his wife are seperated.

We had a good laugh.

This is her l;ast July 4th.

We have no grand kids but we are close To Gene and the kids, brats though they be.
Well, you work with what God gives you I guess,:)

I need to confer with you Mr. Bird on trucks for my lay out.

I think I will set it in the early to mid 50's.

The Berkshire and the Shay were in use then and a turn of the century to 1920 theme would be to early for the engine and there isnt as much availabe in trucks and cars, is there?

The blue Berk engine came out really nice, better than the Shay I think. My car is in the shop so I have to wait untill tomarrow to get to the hobby shop to get it finished. I need to letter it and spay on a layer of Dull Coat.

It is raining and hard this morning.

The cold is no better.
I think it may be something else but my luacites are not up\ so it sint something they can put a finger on. Maybe a cold and an allergy.

HI Gil,

There is actully quit alot in the 50's and both ends of the price range. NewRay has alot of cars from$2.00 to $5.00 each in the 50's in what I like to call the near scale 1/43. Some are not true scale, but for $5.00 you get what you pay for. RoadChamps also made many cars in the 50's. Lot's of pick up truck in the mid 50's also.

Check Diecast Direct and select scale, 1/43

www.diecastdirect.com

Now when you look for the 40's there is a fair amount of cars out there, but you are looking at $15.00 to $35.00 each. But also much nicer details.
