Morning gang. Roy, Dallas was brown when I flew in the other day. Looked like winter as far as grass goes. Got into the 30's here last night. Today is paint day. Hope it goes smooth [he he] so will do it all in one day. Got to warm up before we can spray. Have a good one and God bless.

We have a small local club, (started off with forum members that happened to live close to each other). We meet every other Friday at each others house to visit our layouts.

Hi guys, I wondered over here from N, so don't throw me out.:D Just stopped by for a cup of coffee, and to let you all know that we do have a photo competiton going just about every month. I looked around and haven't seen many of you posting anything there. This month is on scenery. Structures and other stuff are OK in the picture, but the scenery is the focus. The voting opens the first of November so if you plan on posting anything, now's the time.

Roy thank you very much.

I hope he gets a heart as of yesterday but today would do.

Spanky Bird that pic, below is I think the best you have posted so far, as long as I have been enjoying your photos.

I am not doing anything on the rail road, not feeling up to par lately. Maybe it is a cold.:eek:ops:

I will see you all later, time for some gritts and eggs I think. I am sure the dog will agree.

After supper I think I will turn in, read a while and call it a day.

GOOD EVENING EVERYONE !! Good to see Gill here! Hope the Chief got the house all done painting, too! Gee, I still haven't figured out where you post a scenery pic, but I'll start looking when I get done here. Glad you're here EZDAYS! I get a kick out of that picture Tom got of me looking so serious! He gets some good candid shots! He'll get some good ones of Chuck, from the hill, ( Blueberry That Is), when he comes up! Hope everyone has a nice evening!

John, here is the link for the ' Photo Contest '

http://www.the-gauge.com/thread16423-oct-05-contest-scenery.html

it is in the top part of the forum

EZDays - I have entered several of the contest and have also posted several threads on the Photo forum. Thanks for reminding us :D

Yeah, I know you've posted there, but there are some names here that I don't recognize.:wave: Ya see, us N scale guys don't get here often, so we have to meet somewhere in common grounds. The photo contest forum is a great place to do that....:D:D:D

This is what Mikey (N Gauger) calls a "shameless plug:thumb::rolleyes::thumb::rolleyes:

Hi Gil,

We have both Lionel and MTH. I mostly run the MTH ones. I like the smoke and sounds. The last 4 or 5 that I bought is full command (PS2). The last catalog had some listed at $300.00 and I pick the up for $265.00. ;) Not bad for a full command engine. :thumb:

Good Morning All from NE Ohio

where the temp is 42 deg and heading to 48 with light rain.

Gil, we love the American 4-4-0 and the late 19th cent time frame. Most of our layout is modeled from the time frame, if you didn't notice.

here is one of my favorite pics :D :p

Morning all. Cool and had a shower [was not suppose to rain]. Slept late as tired. Got to trim windows and doors [should not take all day]. Got to warm up though. Only 44 right now. Sun is now out so it will not be long. Great picture Tom. Looks real with all that black smoke. Have a good one and God bless all.

Cloudy and tired here.
I was up late putting fascia on the HO layout.
Once I get that done I have to rearrange every thing under it so I can store some of the train stuff that's in the living room. Got to make room for the O gauge X-mas layout (and a tree of coarse)

Hello, it is me again.

It seems I thought I would be away for a few months but that has been postponed so if you dont mind I will post once in awhile here untill then.

A friend from down where Chief lives who is a button and CW relic collector sent me a dozen or so buttom. Among them are several RR buttons and some overall buttons with RR icons.

Alaso 3 GAR and two post office buttons.

I will photo the train buttons and post them later.

QUESTION: How do you tell the difference between Liberals, Conservatives, and Southerners?
ANSWER: Pose the following question:

You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and 7yr old daughter. Suddenly, a dangerous
man with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you - screams obscenities, raises the
knife, and charges.

You are carrying a Glock .40, and you are an expert shot.
You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family. What do you do ?

Liberal Answer:
Well, that's not enough information to answer the question ! Does the man look poor or oppressed?
Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack ? Could we run away ? What does
my wife think ? What about the kids ? Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out
of his hand ? What does the law say about this situation ? Does the Glock have the appropriate safety
built into it ?

Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway - and what kind of message does this send to society and to
my children ? Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me ?

Does he definitely want to kill me ?- Or would he be content just to wound me ? If I were to grab his
knees and hold on, could my family get away while he was stabbing me ? Should I call 9-1-1 ?

Why is this street so deserted ? We need to raise taxes, have a paint and weed day, and make this
a happier, healthier street that would discourage such behavior !

This is all so confusing ! I need to debate this with some friends for a few days and try to come to a
consensus.

Conservative Answer:

BANG !

Southerners Answer:

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG ! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
click, click,,,,,,,,,,,,,(sounds of reloading).
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
Daughter: "Nice grouping, Daddy ! Were those the Winchester silver tips ??"

To: Gil Finn,

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH, (wiping tears away from eyes),...that is so true!

For example, in Louisisana they have the "Shooot the Carjacker Law". Bad guy trying to get into your car with you in it while your stopped at an intersection? Pull your trusty pistol out, shoot and then tell him to freeze. It came about after alot of people were getting carjacked at intersections in, guess what city, that's right The Big Easy itself, New Orleans. Who would have figured?

By the Law in LA, your car is an extension of your house, which you can defend if some dope decides to break-in (unlike the state I live in now, where you have to wait until he/she fires first).

The amount of carjackings decreased drastically, BTW.
