CN 6167 in need of help

MasonJar

It's not rocket surgery
This is a little old, dating from the summer, into early winter 2002.

Seems that old CN 6167, donated to the City of Guelph in 1967, is in need of work just to get it back in display condition, never mind working order.

See various articles in the Guelph Mercury for more information. http://www.guelphmercury.com or
http://www.hytrend.com/servlet/ECanadaSearch?subdomain=mercury&reqDirection=First&reqstring=6167 (search results from The Mercury).

Anyone have any updates past November 2002?

Hi Andrew, sorry I should have posted it here.

I had friends from Gulph over on the weekend , I had told them our concerns re 6167.

They informed me that they had read in the Gulph local paper, that "the powers that be" had shown a desire to refurbish the old girl.
I will try and find out through the links about said info.

Please keep this site posted of any news:)

Latest News sounds Good.

Hi Folks I just received this from my friend in Gulph.

re 6167 Restoration Committee.

Quote.
"In the local paper yesterday, there was an advertisment seeking members for the Restoration Committee.
4 vacancies, 1 year term. Duties are " to co-ordinate fundraising and the restoration of the Locomotive as a static display".

Thats all we now.
