I picked up an HO Atlas RTR Extneded Vision Caboose, Model #1927-1, at a local train show recently and wanted to change the name from Seaboard to another road.
I first tried removing the name using a tip from an previous post; Walther's Solvaset and an eraser. I wasn't successful. I removed the white color from the name on the car but there is still a raised, upainted impression of "Seaboard" remaining. It's almost like Atlas used decals rather than painting.
Has anyone had any success in just removing the name on these Atlas RTRs? I'd prefer not having to strip and repaint the whole car if possible as I don't have airbruching equipment.
Thanks
George

I have read (not tried) that you can remove that kind of "screened" lettering by using a toothpicck to scrub the letters away with Comet or other abrasive cleaner. I have removed Accurail lettering with Microsol using the end of a popsicle stick as the "brush". Worked ok, and with weathering is not overly noticable...
